All proceeds from the sale of this album are being donated to the East Coast Sail Trust, who have been providing cruises for children between the ages of 9 and 16 for over 40 years. In this time over 10,000 children have benefited from this unique experience, which enriches and remains with them for the rest of their lives.

"To say that it was an enormous privilege for Sylvia and I to be asked to contribute the liner notes of this amazing collection of choral offerings from the almost limitless maritime song canon, would not really do full justice. Not only have we had a fantastic time performing alongside the Trad Academy Sea Shanty Choir, but we were made very aware of the current groundswell of interest and enthusiasm among the young for such music. The work put in by both musical director (Pete Truin) and a very competent and driven choir of singers is massive, intuitive, and inspirational. Pete's ideas on harmony are not only musically intelligent and complete but also uniquely creative, inventive and entertaining

That reality combined with such comprehensive group competence amounts to a very special piece of work, placing them straight into the top drawer of the genre's output.
